Abstract

Transcoding digital video (DV) into moving pictures expert group-2 (MPEG-2) intra coding was performed in the discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain to reduce conversion steps. The chroma format conversion used multiplying matrix by transformed data. Other variables computed in the DCT domain included M-quant of MPEG-2 rate control.
