Abstract
Controlled rotation of trapped particles in a spiral interference pattern was investigated using optical tweezers. The particles are trapped in the interference pattern between a Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beam and a plane wave. The results show the reliability of the technique on the optical gradient force, making it applicable for rotating every particles that can be optically tweezed.
