Abstract

A novel compact meander slot microstrip antenna is proposed to achieve miniaturization of antenna and suppression of harmonics. To obtain these characteristics, meander typed slot radiator and open-ended T-shaped conductor line located in meander slot are used. The size of antenna is 6.7 × 4.15 mm at center frequency 5.3 GHz, and the measured real parts of the input impedance at the second and third harmonic frequencies are nearly zero. From measured radiation pattern of E-plane, both the second and third harmonic suppression are approximately less than -30 dB. In H-plane, the second and third harmonic suppression are observed approximately less than -30 and -35 dB, respectively.
