Compact Holographic Antenna using Pillbox Feeding Structure

Abstract

This paper proposes a compact holographic antenna with a pillbox feeding structure. The pillbox feeding structure can illuminate the uniform field distribution in a large aperture. However, the pillbox feeding structure has large transmission losses. The miniaturized and high gain antenna is proposed with high aperture efficiency to compensate for this drawback. The proposed antenna operates at 24 GHz, and the maximum gain of the holographic antenna is measured with 21.2 dBi towards -11°.
