Abstract
This paper investigates capacity characteristics of the indoor NLOS(Non Line-Of-Sight) propagation channel for MIMO system at 5 GHz. To get an indoor MIMO channel, a 3D ray tracing and a patch scattering model are applied to various antenna parameters. Measured statistical channel parameters in the same NLOS environment verify the accuracy of the simulated results. After channel matrices are obtained from the simulated model, eigenvalues and channel capacities are calculated at specific positions. Eigenvalues are analyzed with accumulated distributions. Also, channel capacities are simulated and analyzed with spacing of antenna elements, receiver moving route, and number of antennas. It is appropriate to increase number of antenna elements and select 0.5 wavelength element spacing in a high reflection and diffraction environment to get an enhanced channel capacity.
