Abstract
A channel estimator for asynchronous direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems is proposed which spatio-temporally processes the received signals. It blindly estimates the channel impulse response using the second-order statistics and the subspace concept. Since the proposed estimator exploits data samples of several chip periods so as to perform subspace decomposition for a smaller dimensional data matrix, it is computationally very efficient.
