Abstract

External environment; therefore, the macroscopic properties of dendrimers can be tuned by the nature of peripheral functionalities.11-13 During the past decade, a great number of dendrimer structures have been developed and investigated owing to their structural merit and fascinating aspect. Among them, ionic poly(benzyl ether) dendrimers, having a photofunctional porphyrin or phthalocyanine (Pc) core, have been developed and intensively investigated for their biomedical applications. In this chapter, the biomedical applications of dendrimer porphyrin (DP) and dendrimer Pc (DPc) are discussed.
