Behavior of acoustic emission signal during CSS test for laser textured magnetic disk

Abstract

The behavior of AE signal is studied for various conditions using a commercial CSS tester. It is demonstrated that the shape of the AE-rms signal is quite robust with respect to slider load and disk velocity.
