Abstract

An array structure with uniform heat distribution for the applicator in regional hyperthermia treatment is proposed. The array structure is composed with modified dipole elements which are operated at 433 MHz. A dipole element includes branched radiation strip and matching network. The simulation is performed with simplified human body, bolus, and the applicator on FR-4 substrate. The 2×2 array with circularly rotated feeding which rotates the elements clockwise with own direction has uniformly distributed heat pattern than normal array. The heat distribution is observed which is obtained from specific absorption rate (SAR) and bio-heat equation and shows the adequate of the proposed applicator for regional hyperthermia treatment.
