title = "Animal implantation study of surface modified stents grafted with sulfonated PEG: Blood compatibility and restenosis",
abstract = "The surface modified metallic surfaces of stents grafted with sulfonated polyethylene glycol (PEG) was analyzed. These surfaces were characterized by ESCA, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) in terms of platelet adhesion and protein adsorption. It was observed that the PEG-SO3-modified surfaces demonstrated least platelet adhesion and the fibrinogen adsorption compared to only PEO grafted one. It was also observed that the modified coronary stents exhibited enhanced smoothness and less platelet adhesion compared with bare stents.",
