Abstract

Angular multiplexing of two-color nonvolatile holograms was performed using 850 nm recording beams and 436 nm gating light, starting from the UV pre-exposed, colored state in near-stoichiometric LiNbO3:Tb,Fe crystals. A 436 nm light from the filtered Hg-Xe lamp with 80 mW/cm2 was used as the gating source. The incident angle of the reference beam was changed using a mirror mounted on a rotation stage followed by a 4-f Fourier transform system. An M/# of 0.33 was obtained and the multiplexed holograms showed very stable nonvolatile readout characteristics.
