Abstract

This paper introduces a 3D isotropic dispersion finite-difference time-domain (ID-FDTD) method for free space and lossy media. The 3D ID-FDTD method is based on a novel spatial finite scheme to reduce the anisotropy comparably to the standard FDTD method. To implement 3D ID-FDTD, this paper provides the parameters and the results related to the proposed method under various conditions. For the purpose of the verification of outstanding isotropic characteristic, the sphere scattering problem is considered.
