Abstract

This study investigated the distribution of the users into different types, produced by Q methodology, in order to understand characteristics of users and how many users belong to each type. In doing this, the present study investigated whether there was any relationship between the characteristics of users classified by Q methodology and the demographic characteristics of the respondents. Users who had experiences in watching movies through various media devices, including smartphones, aged 15 or older and residing in Korea were gathered for each type by a quota sampling method. Among a total of 500 questionnaires, the 426 which did not have any errors were used for the analysis of the results. The results showed that we could use the classification of user types in order to analyze movie consumers by type as well as it was verified and empirically significant.
