Abstract

An orthogonal transmit diversity (OTD) scheme for ISO-2000 CDMA systems called, namely symbol split OTD (SS-OTD) was discussed. SS-OTD's BER performances were simulated and compared with those of OTD and space time spreading (STS) under the spatio-temporally correlated Rayleigh fading channels. Conventional direct sequence CDMA (DS-CDMA) systems employ many chips to represent one information bit. SS-OTD improves the forward link performances without additional complexity, which is required by STS.
