Abstract

In Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks, most of processing and buffering are concentrated at the edge. Thus, we propose an analytic model of burst queue at an edge in terms of IP packets with the aim to obtain the average number of packets in burst queue the size of which influences the cost of constructing OBS networks.
