Abstract

This study analyzed the relationship between the morphological and mechanical characteristics and the human vertebrae level by using micro-computed tomopgrphy and micro finite element analysis. The results show that the correlations of DA in thoracic vertebra and BV/TV, Tb. Th and SMI in lumbar vertebra were significant at the 0.01 level. The 1st thoracic and the 1st lumbar vertebra which get in contact with the last cervical and the last thoracic respectively one were calculated at higher value than any others in the same kind of vertebra. The spine at the curvature parts has strong morphological and mechanical characteristics. The future study of this object is the real mechanical test and the various experiments with other cadavers.
