A Switch Network-Based Adaptive Sub-Connected Hybrid Precoding Architecture in Sub-THz Communications

Abstract

We propose a policy to determine the number of used RF chains and subarray which satisfies the quality of service (QoS) of the user while consuming low power. Also, a new search algorithm for the switch network with low complexity is proposed to decide the hybrid precoder of beamforming matrix in real time after receiving the channel state information (CSI) from the user. Simulation results show that the proposed RF chain-subarray number selection policy can reduce the power consumption according to QoS. Additionally, it is shown that the proposed switch network search algorithm is greatly efficient in complexity.
