Abstract
A strain-based structural health monitoring (SHM) is robustly applied on building structure to ensure not only safety or serviceability but also precise construction. However, applications of SHM always have limitations of size of sensor system due to the financial and technical difficulties although reliable evaluation of structural health is guaranteed by large number of measurement in case of buildings. This paperdeals with an effective technique to estimate strains at any locations, which are not measured, by means of measured strains. To verify the technique, a 15-story building modeled by finite element (FE) program is simulated according to scenario.
