Abstract
Mandibular first premolars obtained from two each of men and women between the ages of 40 to 50 years old were scanned using a micro-CT. Data were measured from the scanned 2-D images by way of measurement software. Measured data were compared with the morphological data presented by G.V. Black. The 2-D scanned images were reconstructed into 3-D models for FEA (Finite Element Analysis), then stress distribution of the inner and outer part of the teeth were shown. We found that the inner and outer morphology of the teeth play an important role in contributing to fatigue fracture. The necessity of inner and outer morphological data and a part of Korean teeth standardization are presented in this study.
