Abstract
We propose a new interference cancellation (IC) scheme for an uplink multicell environment to reduce error propagation with low backhaul use. The proposed scheme shares one real value scaler in addition to hard symbols through backhaul, which minimizes residual interference variance. Although the proposed scheme requires almost the same amount of backhaul use as the conventional HIC scheme, its performance is close to the performance of the conventional soft IC scheme, particularly for high modulation order. We also derive the received signalto- noise-and-interference ratio (SINR) of the proposed scheme to use adaptive modulation. Simulation results show that our SINR analysis is accurate and that adaptive modulation operates well under a target bit error rate (BER).
