A novel clustering algorithm in MANETs using analytical hierarchy process (AHP) mathematical model

Abstract

MANETs (Mobile Ad-oc NET works) have evolved as the prevalent and indkpensible technique widely used nowadays. Clustering has been playing an important role in MANET, as it improves the performance of large scale MANETs by establishing a hierarchical structure. In this paper, we introduce a novel clustering algorithm that employs a powerful analytical hierarchy process (AHP) methodology to elect cluster-head for each cluster. The AHP is utilized to calculate weight of each node and the node with the largest weight is elected as a cluster-head. We also propose cluster formation and maintenance methods which are aligned with the clustering algorithm. The simulation analysis confirms the availability and efficiency of our scheme.
