A new technique for shortening a guiding catheter during retrograde recanalization of a chronic total occlusion

Abstract

This report introduces successful retrograde angioplasty of chronic total occlusion with a long collateral channel using a new technique of shortening the guiding catheter. With this method, we secured the lengths of the guidewire and the microcatheter for retrograde intervention without sacrificing the position of the tracked guidewire.
