title = "A new framework of measuring the business values of software",
abstract = "A new framework for measuring the business values of software is presented. The business values of software are categorized to two groups: tangible- and intangible-benefit. An implicit approach is used to quantitatively measure the intangible benefit of software by introducing two concepts, product attribute and quality attribute. The approach can relate the quantitative value from the usability test into the qualitative, intangible benefits of software. As an example, the proposed framework is applied to a software system in the development stage. We demonstrate the capability of the framework to quantitatively measure the intangible benefits of software as well as the tangible benefit by studying the usability test.",
