Abstract

One of most important issues in RFID system is to design fast identification mechanism of tagged objects. Gen2 protocol is chosen to improve the performance that identifies tagged objects. However, if any reader should identify many tagged objects within the sensing range, the performance of identification process for tagged objects can be degraded. Also, when many tagged objects are identified by multiple readers, the performance of identification process for tagged objects cannot be improved without any specific management method for multiple readers. Therefore, an effective method is required to manage multiple readers efficiently. In this paper, we propose a management method for multiple readers based on Gen2 protocol and middleware framework. And we examine the performance of proposed method by using Gen2 simulator. Simulation results show that the performance of our tag identification mechanism can be improved by around 170%, compared with any identification process without any management method.
