A method of induced current estimation of EDS type maglev using 3D transient EM analysis

Maglev trains have been studied as a new transportation system to replace existing train systems in terms of speed, stability, and environment. In order to confirm the stability of the maglev train, it is essential to accurately identify the electromagnetic force generated between the bogie and the guideway. However, it is difficult to accurately predict the induction current used in force calculations. In this study, an electrodynamic suspension-type maglev train (L0 series) was selected as a model, and a 3D transient electromagnetic analysis model was constructed to calculate the induced currents generated in the ground coil. Then, a method of estimating the relationship between the relative position and induced current is introduced through parametric studies. The results confirmed that estimating the induced current with a regression model were well matched comparing with analytical results.
