Abstract

This paper presents a high gain pattern reconfigurable antenna with simple structure. The pattern reconfiguration is achieved by switching the feeding direction of the series-fed array antenna, and a few PIN diodes and divider is used in order to change the feeding direction. The antenna has corresponding three patterns with gains of 14.5 dBi, 17.0 dBi and 16.7 dBi. Compared to conventional reconfigurable antennas, the proposed antenna has simple structure and low profile, and can be expanded easily for higher gain.
