Abstract

A full parallax three-dimensional imaging method based on a point light source array with a pixel cell plate is introduced. The pixel cell plate is an image display panel which is composed of pixels selected by the method from a two dimensional multiview image array to be displayed. The plate is placed in front of the light source array for the formation of the viewing zone. The pixel cell plate can also work with two-dimensional pinhole or microlens arrays to create three-dimensional images and thus provide full parallax. The pixel cell plate is consisted of a two-dimensional array of pixel cells which has the same number pixels as each image of a N × N multiview image array.
