Abstract

The OLAP has greatly evolved in the areas of database and data warehouse systems for multidimensional data analysis. Especially, the data cube has been successfully applied to multi-dimensional data analysis. Most of emerging applications such as network traffic analysis, web click stream monitoring and sensor data processing deal with an infinite data stream which generates its data elements in a rapid rate. This paper proposed a dynamic cube for efficiently adopting the conventional data cube to a data stream environment. It is impossible to store all produced data in a limited memory space due to the characteristic of the data stream. Consequently, it is better to try to provide meaningful information by utilizing given memory space. The dynamic cube reduces memory usage and processing time not only by employing a user-interesting area but also by managing attribute as groups.
