Abstract

In this paper, a compact monopole antenna is proposed for Bluetooth (2.4-2.484 GHz) and ultra-wideband (UWB; 3.1-10.6 GHz) applications. The size of the proposed antenna is 19× 28× 0.8 mm3. It consists of a double ring-type monopole and branched monopole. The double ring-type monopole operates above 5 GHz, and the branched monopole produces additional resonance in the Bluetooth band and the UWB low-frequency band.
