Abstract

Bullous pemphigoid is a chronic autoimmune disease of the elderly, characterized clinically by generalized tense bullae and histopathologically by subepidermal blisters. The mainstay of bullous phemphigoid treatment is systemic corticosteroids, often combined with other immunosuppressive drugs. We report a case of bullous pemphigoid occurring in 23-year-old woman. The disease did not respond to high dose steroid and azathioprine treatment, but was controlled by minocycline and nicotinamide.
